Devlog 15: State of Team/Project Update


Hello Bludgeoneers.

This is going to be a sombre update. I'll keep it to the point.

  • For the most part, Bludgeon is run by myself (Tejas) and my wife.
  • 2025 hasn't been the kindest year to us.
    • We are video game industry professionals and if you're familiar with the state of the industry, you can surmise what that means for us.
    • And other matters besides.
  • A few weeks ago, however, my wife was diagnosed with a disease that will take a while to treat & recover from.
  • The last month or so has had us reevaluating quite a lot of what we do. There are still major decisions we need to take, but know that we're expecting major changes to our lives as a result of the above.

What this means for Bludgeon:

  • We cannot commit any more of our own funds to art for the project. This facet will now be on hold.
  • Updates will likely be slower.
  • Future content will continue to be built, but expect a dip in production quality.

Overall, we're facing a lot of uncertainty, but we'll troop on. In the (paraphrased) words of my wife - "This started as a hobby. Let's keep updating it with the same mindset."

That being said, I sincerely appreciate everyone who's taken a chance on our system, who have given us feedback, and have been patient with us as we built this game out from a simple word-doc. into a full fledged rulebook over the last 4 years.
